RIGHT TO LIFE

DAVIESS COUNTY, INDIANA

In Memory of Donna Gentry

November 16, 1941 – February 2, 2011

Donna

Pictured above is Donna Gentry Of Daviess County Right To Life just minutes before She was to be honored at the Dedication Ceremony on Friday January 28 at the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce Plaza on Main Street in Washington.  Donna suffered a massive stroke towards the end of the ceremony and was taken to the Hospital and passed away five days later on Wednesday afternoon February 2. She was laid to rest on Saturday February 5.

Donna Gentry leaves a long list of accomplishments not only in the Right to Life and the Pregnancy Care Center but also in other community organizations.  Placing the Bench/Monument at the site where the Pregnancy Care Center was founded in January of 1999 was done by Daviess County Right To Life Organization to highlight the significance of that endeavor.  This bench would also honor Donna Gentry who was the founder of the Pregnancy Care Center and honor the many lives she has been able to touch, the many people she has helped and for her many accomplishments in the pro-life movement.  The work of the Pregnancy Care Center would not have been possible without the dedication of Donna Gentry to see it through.

Ever so often you come across an individual who has made such a huge impact on their community and this has been evident in Donna Gentry's passing.  The impact by Gentry was evident by the many people who paid their respects and to the large crowd who attended her Funeral.   Donna’s Granddaughter Brianne Rainey said it best as she ended her remarks at the Funeral.   "We remember her as a great woman but she wasn't,  She was a simple woman that did great things through Jesus.
